About Kirkland, WA Kirkland is an affluent city in King County, Washington. It is a suburb of Seattle located on the Eastside (of Lake Washington). As of April 1, 2005, the city had an estimated population of 45,740, making Kirkland the eighth largest city in King County and the eighteenth largest city in the State. No other city has more waterfront parks on Lake Washington, many offering panoramic views of the lake, Seattle skyline and Olympic Mountains.
Downtown Kirkland is located along the lakefront and is filled with restraunts, art gallereies and performing arts center, among parks, beaches and public art.
