Kirkland’s lakeside parks, like Marina Park near the downtown shops and restaurants, are something to brag about.  The downtown area is a great destination.  When you have a day, a half day, or even a couple free hours and need a bit of a break, this is a place you will be sure to relax and refresh.  Down by the water in Kirkland there is always something interesting to see, do, nibble, buy.  Whether you want pizza at Zeek’s, cupcakes at Sweet Cakes Bakery, coffee at Kahili Coffee, world wraps, delicious fare at one of the many restaurants, like Hectors (average price $10, great weekend brunch)  or the Third Floor Fish Cafe (average price $40), to shop for a hat or shoes or flowers or art, you won’t do better than to spend a few hours here.  And the waterfront park is a wonderful place to stroll or sit with #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } Lake Street Mall Cupcakes at...

Kahili Coffee in Kirkland is a Must Visit

There’s a lot to do on Lake Street in Kirkland. And really good Kona coffee can sometimes be on the top of the list, Kirkland Coffee Mecca especially when there’s free wifi (even a laptop bar with lots of places to plug in), oversized chairs and sofas around a fire, and friendly skilled baristas who delight in coffee art. This is Kahili Coffee, where there is a Oversized sofas by the fire at Kahili featured monthly artist, and a mix of high tech business, couples, friends, students, many with laptops and piles of books or briefcases full of projects stacked on the round cafe tables. If I’m not careful I sink into the friendly comfort, perhaps even indulge in a homemade almond poppyseed muffin, and stay the whole three hours I am alotted in the city parking around the corner. It’s a great place to meet friends, or clients, or just sit down and catch up on your email and…blogging! Once you go Friends Relax at Kahili there, you will return again and again. Eventually I predict you will venture out to the shops, galleries, eateries that Lake Street, Park Place, Central Avenue, and the Lakeside Plaza offer. For a while. Before it’s time for another mocha! Kona...

Kirkland — Views of Lake WA, Mt Rainier, Bellevue, Kirkland

Seattle Guide

Two new construction homes by Legendary Homes sit almost atop Goat Hill, in the Juanita area of Kirkland. Views of the north end of Lake Washington, Kirkland and Bellevue’s skylines as well as Mt. Rainier on a clear day (when the mountain is “out”) have been maximized in the layouts of these two homes. First, the luxury home nearest the road has warm feeling finishes, fine woods throughout, granite kitchen counters with hand chiseled edges–a unique touch. Travertine tiles, marble touches, molten glass and metal tilework. Interesting features include hand hammered copper sink in the media room, a wine cellar with your choice of layouts. Five Bedrooms and Four Baths make this a substantial place to live, with space for extended family, or room to wander. The media room is your own personal movie house, complete with a refrigerator, sink and cupboard space for snacks. If you’d rather enjoy the views, they are available from the main level of the home, the Master Suite, and the fabulous roof top deck, which incidentally has a kitchen on the same level–convenient! To quote the builder: “We are a small family owned and operated construction...
