Queen Anne, Seattle Neighborhood

Queen Anne is best known for its beautiful view of downtown Seattle and its 19th-century architectural style typical of many of the early homes.

The community of Queen Anne is walking distance to Downtown. It’s located just north of Seattle Center and south of Fremont cut of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Queen Anne is bordered by Belltown to the south, Lake Union to the east, the Lake Washington Ship Canal to the north and Magnolia to the west.

Home on the lake union side boast beautiful views of the water. On the eastern part of Queen Anne the area is mainly commercial. Upper Queen Anne is sprinkled with shops ranging from upscale dress shops to local pubs. An interesting fact about the neighborhood’s name is it stems from the architectural style of early houses in this area.

Space Needle the city’s most iconic landmark is located at the Seattle Center and many make surprisingly short elevator trip to the top for a fantastic view. At the base of the Needle, an amusement park and fun center is present. Seattle’s Center is the home to three major performing arts organizations like Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Repertory Theater.

The Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce association of business professionals is known for its efforts to make the area a safer, better and more prosperous community. Queen Anne got a wide array of dining establishments from which to choose for desired taste. For book lovers Queen Anne Branch Public Library is located in lower Queen Anne.
