Golden Beetle Restaurant in Ballard

Golden Beetle

This newer restaurant on NW Market Street is created by the owner of the renowned Seattle restaurant Tilth.  Golden Beetle is a Ballard fairytale haven serving organic middle eastern / African  food.  The award-winning owner and executive chef, Maria Hines, traveled to the Golden Beetle diningMiddle East and went to Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, Turkey and others to bring back a wealth of flavors and treasures to the tables of this highly experiential establishment in the heart of Ballard.

Diners enjoying the experienceIn our busy lives we like to "get away" for a week in Hawaii, a weekend in the mountains, or part of an afternoon in a place that draws you away from now into Then, and brings you back filled and changed.  This is such a haven, and yet the atmosphere is casual enough to walk in tables at the window looking onto NW Market Streetwearing blue jeans (I suppose that's the trademark of Seattle after all) and not think twice.

For the foodies among us the word on the street (Yelp, that is) tells us the food (click here for their website photos) is AMAZING, with bold flavors but maybe not the best deserts.  I will Open Kitchen with tiled oven by Claire Barnett of Seattle Mosaiclook forward to hearing from you on that.

Don't forget to drift back to the Open Kitchen with a tiled oven by Claire Barnett of Seattle Mosaic.  In the tradition of great modern chef-heroes, you are able to watch the food being transformed into art.
