Phantom Lake, Bellevue, Washington

Phantom Lake is a small lake - row boat sized - in East Bellevue. A public park occupies the west end of the lake and fine waterfront homes line the rest of the shore. Bellevue's Lake-to-Lake Trail runs around the lake and through the neighborhood. The lake empties into a gully and down a waterfall in Weowna Park that the locals know as The Grand Canyon of Bellevue. The focal point of the community is the popular Lake Hills Community Park with its playgound, basketball court, picnic area, and baseball field. Immediately adjacent to the park is the Bellevue School District's Tilicum Middle School that adds a soccer field, tennis courts, and running track to the recreational possibilities. Tilicum is also the home to Bellevue's K-12 Spanish Immersion Program in the 6th through 8th grades. The program is the longest running language immersion program in the state. At the northwest corner of the neighborhood lies the beautiful Lake Hills Demonstration Garden - a volunteer garden with flowers and edibles. Something is always blooming there through the spring and summer.
